Life at Edgar Street Care Home
Each resident has her own private room. Residents are encouraged to personalise their bedrooms and may bring their own possessions if it helps to make the room feel like home. We can assist with furnishings if needed, and staff are on hand to encourage choice.
Life skills are taught as needs are assessed and according to input from the resident. Some residents may need support with healthy meal planning and basic cooking while others may prefer to leave cooking to the household ( a communal meal is available in the evening). Another resident may need to learn money management or how to use the public transit. At Edgar Street, we let residents shape their goals and we support them – our philosophy is self-sufficiency and positive independence within the community.
